Biosolids management (BSM) encompasses elements inherent within and acquired throughout the waste water process lifecycle. Particles in industrial waste water and municipal sludge are considered for potential recovery and re-use in the circular economy ecosystem.

Phosphorous recovery and recycling are REMONDIS' biosolids management flagships. Patented technology and methodology, the TetraPhos process cost effectively recovers high quality phosphate from sewage sludge ash, which is then processed into an industrial quality phosphoric acid, branded RePacid.
Its multi-purpose application is predominant in agriculture as fertiliser and stock feed which negates the necessity for importation and its possible contamination risks. Through biological treatment processing, nutrient rich compost is produced to complement soil as substrate.
The recyclable sludge's characteristic energy content is akin to brown coal. Thermal treatment of it creates carbon neutral energy appropriate for supporting recycling and recovery facilities as a secondary fuel.
