Sebastian Weil, Director, REMONDIS Aqua Australia Pty Ltd

Sebastian has 15 years' experience managing and leading water supply and waste water treatment projects in Asia, Africa, Oceania, and Europe. Having worked in the sector as an engineer, researcher and consultant advising public authorities on water management, water infrastructure financing and water treatment technology, Sebastian is currently undertaking his PhD on waste water treatment in hot climates. He has expert knowledge in design and operation of municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants and has gained substantial expertise in the areas of resource recovery from waste water and water re-use technology.

Sebastian is an active member of relevant industry associations, including the International Water Association and German Water Association; the transfer of knowledge and technology is a cornerstone of his work.

Thomas Hallam, Business Development Manager, REMONDIS Aqua Australia

Since attaining his Urban Planning degree at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in 2015, Thomas has completed the REMONDIS Business Graduate Program. The 2+ year Program provided exposure to REMONDIS Aqua's suite of innovative technologies and treatment methodologies and included mentorship from REMONDIS Aqua Australia's Director, Sebastian Weil.

During his extended secondment across Europe, Thomas developed a keen interest in modern urbanised environment waste problems and is exploring how we can grow the capacity and standard of the water and waste treatment, water recycling and sludge management industry here in Australia.

Thomas’s mantra is that "waste only exists in the absence of the right conversation".
